Severstal continues deliveries of ArmaNorma rebars for construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey

PAO Severstal, one of the world’s largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies, continues deliveries of its unique reinforcing bars – ArmaNorma (А600С) – for construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (Turkey).
More than 1,800 tons of ArmaNorma rebars for the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey have been produced at the Cherepovets Steel Works (part of Severstal Russian Steel division) by the end of 2018. All rebars for the foundation of the nuclear island of block 1 of the nuclear power plant in Turkey are supplied through Severstal’s customer – JSC Concern TITAN-2.  Reinforcing bars are shipped via the Severstal Distribution warehouse in St. Petersburg.
“The project of the power plant construction provided for the use of the specific brand of reinforcing bars – Armanorma, since the properties of this product fully meet the requirements to products intended for construction of such critical facilities under conditions of high seismic activity”, - said Evgeny Chernyakov, Sales Director of AO Severstal Management.
ArmaNorma (А600С rebars) is a brand name for alloy steel reinforcing bars of new generation with a unique combination of strength and ductility. Special alloying elements are used for production of ArmaNorma, which makes it possible to use this product instead of any other grade of rebars. Universal properties of ArmaNorma enable reduction in rolled steel consumption and standardization of materials.
