On December 12 the closing play of the 13th season of the theater festival "Golden Mask in Latvia» was staged in Riga to a full house: the Moscow Theatre of Nations performed the play of Latvian director Alvis Hermanis "The Shukshin Stories". On the eve of the performance a traditional charitable event was held with the participation of Yevgeny Mironov and Chulpan Khamatova.

The performance of "Stories of Shukshin” by the Theater of Nations has become one of the most anticipated events of the Latvian theater season 2018: during the nine years of its existence, it was shown in half of the world's countries with an incredible success. "It is symbolic that the performance of Latvian Director Alvis Hermanis – his debut project in Russia – returned to Riga in the year of the hundredth anniversary of Latvia. This work is a clear indication that the Man remains the main value at all times, and his thoughts and feelings, told in the language of art, are understood and shared by audiences in different countries belonging to different generations.
“I am sincerely glad that with the participation of our company, the Latvian audience was again provided with the opportunity to immerse into the atmosphere created on stage by the brilliant actors of the Theater of Nations", said Timur Yudichev, Head of Distribution Network of Severstal Russian Steel division.

In accordance with tradition the framework of the festival "Golden Mask in Latvia" held in Riga included a charitable event supported by the project partners which was attended by actors of the Moscow Theater of Nations:  Eugene Mironov, Chulpan Khamatova, Julia Peresild, as well as by popular Latvian actors and musicians. All donations raised at the event will be transferred to the Fund of The Children's hospital – for the treatment of children diagnosed with spastic tetraparesis or motor dysfunction of the limbs. Such charitable events are held since 2013 and the participants of the events have donated nearly 30 thousand euros to charity funds during this time.
