On May 20, 2014, the first conference of the 2014 Golden Mask in Latvia Festival, supported by Severstal for the 9th year in a row, took place in Riga. Theatrical performances of the 2014 Golden Mask in Latvia Festival will take place in Riga and Ventspils between October 13 and 18, 2014.
This annual festival offers Latvian audience a great opportunity to enjoy a variety of drama, opera, ballet, operetta, musical and puppet performances in different styles from classical pieces to avant garde. All performances featured at the festival are among the recipients of and nominees for the Russian National Theatre Awards.

This season, Latvia will see two performances by Theater Vakhtangov (Moscow): Pushkin's Evgeny Onegin (drama) and Lev Tolstoy's Anna Karenina (choreographic performance). Festival schedule also includes The Multiplicity. Forms of Silence and Emptiness ballet based on music by J. S. Bach performed by Mikhailovsky Theatre (St. Petersburg); The Good Person of Szechwan parable performed by Moscow Pushkin Drama Theatre; and Barmaley children's play performed by Bolshoi Puppet Theater (St. Petersburg).
