Every year in Latvia world-famous Russian artists come together on Russia Day for a series of concerts, supported by longstanding event partner Severstal. This year, on 12th June, the Mitrofan Pyatnitsky State Academic Russian Folk Choir will perform in Jurmala.
Natalia Poppel, head of Severstal’s CSR and brand department, said: "Supporting art and culture is one of Severstal’s main charitable focuses. This year we supported the Pyatnitsky Choir’s performance in Jurmala. This project is of special importance to us as Latvia is known as a country of great singers. They are choral singing coniosseurs so we are particularly proud that we can show them something new. I think that the Latvian audience will really enjoy seeing the world renowned Pyatnitsky Choir. "
The Pyatnitsky State Academic Russian Folk Choir is the most famous folk choir to originate from Russia. They are an original singing and dancing group of artists known for their authentic style of performing and distinctive repertoire. They have a powerful and unique voice, supported by an orchestra of folk instruments and they perform spectacular dances.
Severstal Distribution, one of Severstal’s subsidiary companies, has been operating In Latvia since 1992. It is now one of the 20 largest enterprises in the country. The company, which supplies steel products to 10 countries in Northern and Eastern Europe, is the leader in Latvian industry and one of the largest exporters in the country.
Severstal is also the official partner of the Golden Mask theatre festival in Latvia. In its 12th year, in 2017 the festival will be held in Riga, Liepaja and Ventspils.
