Severstal has started production of submersible and bored piles of steel longitudinal welded pipes. The new product was developed at the Severstal TPZ-Sheksna site. The first shipment is scheduled by Severstal Distribution in March.
Steel driven piles are used for the construction of infrastructure, including in the oil and gas industry, and for reinforcing foundations. The plant has already received the first order for this product and 1500 piles will be sent to the Russian gas company Arcticgas. The product will be used for the construction of a pressure oil pipeline for the development of the oil section of the Yaro-Yakhinskoye oil and gas condensate field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
Vadim Germanov, CEO of the Severstal Russian Steel division, said: "The oil and gas industry is key to the Russian economy. It is therefore important that we can deliever a full range of steel construction materials for this segment. Access to new markets will enable us to increase Severstal’s pipeline prioduction capacity."
